Kuan Yin's Teachings and Healing Practices
2013-10-19
from 09:00 to 13:00 |
Dates: There are 4 Saturday classes in this course: October 19, November 16, December 21, and January 25
Cost: $160 ($140 if registered and paid in full by Monday, October 14)
Description: This four-session class expands our understanding and application of Kuan Yin’s teachings and healing practices. Based on Stephen Levine’s forthcoming book, Becoming Kuan Yin: The Evolution of Compassion, the class explores how Kuan Yin’s abused life on earth as Miao Shan transformed her consciousness into Kuan Yin, the Mother Buddha of Mercy and Compassion. Even today, Kuan Yin is very much alive and can be called on as a merciful guardian, healer, and protector.
Kuan Yin represents the skillful means that opens our heart to our suffering. ~ Stephen Levine
In this class, we study and apply Kuan Yin’s teaching and healing practices: healing in dreams, practicing "poetry medicine," healing physical and emotional pain, learning compassion and mercy, and practicing forgiveness.
Requirements: Participants should anticipate attending all four classes in this course to support the coherence and group energy of the course.
